SYNOPSIS
Story Overview
"Journey Through Forever" is a dramatic musical expression (DOME) by Oscar Brown, Jr. The narrative centers on Theoldman, who is confronted by Allthetime. Allthetime manifests in the form of four alluring female figures who alternately tease, entice, and provoke Theoldman in his mind's eye.
Attended by a compassionate Nurse who strives to maintain his positive outlook, Theoldman embarks on a reflective journey down Memory Lane. He recalls his past as "A Ladiesman" before age and a stroke challenged his "Health and Welfare."
As the Nurse observes with empathy, Theoldman envisions himself on "spaceship Earth," rotating "360 Degrees" daily. Allthetime guides him through "Strange Changes," leading him to contemplate the challenges of aging in songs such as "Getting Old Is A Drag," "Hooray For The Has Been," "Just Aint No Cure For Old Age," "When Tomorrow Comes," and "Old And Cross." To lift his spirits, the Nurse reminds Theoldman of the "Priority Seating" he can still enjoy, even as he reminisces about past loves and ponders, "What Was That We Used To Do?"
