Oscar Brown, Jr.

AT NARRAGANSETT *

They worked together when

They were young college men

Becoming brothers then

At Narragansett

In close colored cahoots

Waiting on rich white snoots

To buy themselves new suits

At Narragansett

Upstanding colored boys

The white priv'leged employs

To assist with their joys

At Narragansett

Just what they were and who

And all they were to do

Nobody ever knew

At Narragansett

For decades each then went

In any brave event

Following summers spent

At Narragansett

Through strong decades they knew

They both had remained true

To brotherhood, they grew

At Narragansett

*Narragansett Pier, once a summer resort in Rhode Island,

where Oscar Brown Sr. and Paul Robeson were employed
